Jedi's Story Dear Ms Megan,You remember me I am sure, Jedi Knight! Well I want to thank you and the Bearen Foundation. If it wasn’t for you, my life would have ended. For those of you who don’t know me, here is what happened when I was a Dark Jedi. (that is what mom calls me when I am bad or don’t listen.) I was a foolish pup of then just 8-month, when I thought it would be fun to run and play outside in the front yard. My mom told me to come back, but the smell of spring was too much for my young nose and I ran away at break neck speed. My young friend Carl could not stop me nor my other mom Carissa. (She is my favorite) I would not let her hold me and broke loose and ran down 18th street fast as a Jedi Knight. Carl ran behind me and I thought we were playing tag! The only tag I found was the car turning the corner and then bang! I was hit and thrown to the ground. I was stunned to feel so much pain and see the big wheel of the car coming at my head. I jumped and ran home, crying and bleeding, I yelled to my mom loud and fast. She opened the door and I limped in and fell to the floor. My mom began to cry and look at my leg, it hurt so badly, but mom was gentle and I felt so sad for both her and me. Mom then went to the phone and tried to get me help, but no one would help me, all the vets wanted money paid in full at the time of the office visit and she was broke. She was having a hard month and everything had gone wrong and money was gone too. Someone at one of the Vet offices told mom to call The Bearen Foundation. Mom was crying so hard, that the nice lady Megan had to gently calm her down. I got up and limped over to my mom’s side and kissed her and licked her tears. I know she loves me so much, and I love her and all my other family too. They all treat me like family, and I am very loving and kind to them. Ms Megan got the name of the Vet we liked, and gave mom a coupon for a free Vet visit. Also Ms. Megan helped to pay part of the vet bill and helped my mom set up a payment plan to my Vet. To say the least my recovery was long and painful, but today I can run and play like there was nothing ever wrong. I have healed fully but never will I run into the street again. When I go for walks I watch the cars and stay close to my family. However when I go past the place I was hit, I run fast behind my family and sometimes I cry and shake. I know what can happen if I don’t do what I am told and I listen much more than ever before. I am 10 months old and I just want to say “Thank you Ms Megan and The Bearen Foundation, thank you everyone that helps with your donations to the Bearen Foundation that make all this possible...Thank you Dr. Blinkhorn of The Veterinary Hospital, you fixed my leg and were so kind to my family and me we all love you! Your staff is the best too! Jedi Knight and Family PS. My mom is teaching me to say mama!
