Our Little Bearen

12th Annual Pet Stroll | Eugene, OR

God saw you getting tired,
He did what he thought best;
He put His arms around you,
And said, "Come and rest."

He opened up His golden gates,
On that heartbreaking day;
And with His arms around you,
You gently slipped away.

It broke my heart to lose you,
You did not go alone;
A part of me went with you,
The day God called you home.

Biscuit's Story

Biscuit Biscuit came to us from Golden Bond Rescue at age 4 ½. He is a role model for unconditional acceptance, warmth and affection. I was speechless when a biopsy revealed he had cancer. My heart sank to an all-time low at the thought of perhaps losing my precious boy. Our compassionate vet reassured me that surgery was a viable option. Without hesitation, I was willing to undertake anything that would help him recover. Although grateful for a potentially positive outcome for Biscuit, we could not help but be concerned about the financial impact. Eight months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and our finances are still suffering. But Biscuit needed help and we could not let doctor bills stand in the way. A friend told us about the Bearen Foundation and through our vet, we asked for help. We will be forever grateful for the generous donation that helped offset the cost of Biscuit’s treatment.

Biscuit is recovering extremely well and has now returned to his office job as a Therapeutic Greeter in a breast cancer research office where he meets and greets other cancer survivors! In our hearts, Biscuit reigns and so do Dr Jon Duncan, his staff at Willakenzie Animal Clinic and the angels at the Bearen Foundation. Thank you so much for all that each of you did to help out with Biscuit’s care.

Hugs,
Biscuit & his Family
