Baxter's Story

Baxter began having trouble urinating, but it took us a week or two to figure out that something was wrong. He would apparently “unblock” himself, and then he was running around playing, being Baxter again. When I took him to the clinic, his bladder was seriously distended and Dr. Calahan said his urethra was blocked. They needed to put a catheter in and start him on some medication, re-hydrate him. He stayed with them for five days. When we visited him we would feed him by hand, because he just wasn’t interested in eating or drinking. He’s been home not for four days and is beginning to seem more like himself. I’m so grateful to the caring staff at South Hills and their willingness to work with me on a payment plan. I don’t know if this is over, or if there might continue to be expenses related to his care. I any help the Bearen Foundation can give.
